I’ll look forward to your review and comments about the Daylight device now available. So many interesting new products coming including Supernote A5X2 and possibly a Remarkable 3. 🥳
There was stagnation and a lack of variety in the e-reader space in its early days.
This has changed due to companies like BOOX, reMarkable and Supernote. It started with e-notes and was followed by E Ink colour. However, Kobo should be acknowledged for releasing Kobo Aura One in September 2016. It was considered a large e-reader and different from the plethora of six-inch e-readers at the time.
A lot has changed, and it is difficult to follow all the e-notes and colour e-readers that are being released!
Daylight’s tablet is interesting, but it is unclear how they adapted LCD technology to make ‘Live Paper’. The price is also far too high. Daylight says if there is sufficient demand and the tablet sells well, they can bring the cost down – they are a small startup and can’t order in large volumes like other manufacturers.
Hanspree has released an e-note with a transflective display - they call it ‘eco-friendly paper display technology’. It is much cheaper than Daylight’s tablet and is in colour. It is not clear when the e-note will be available more widely.
